The 3rd Annual Meeting of the
East Asian Anthropological Association
With the gracious support of the Academy of Korean Studies and the East Asian History Foundation, the third annual meeting of the East Asian Anthropological Association is taking place in South Korea from September 9 to September 12, 2010. On the overall theme of “Alternative Modernity: Reflection from East Asia” anthropologists from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan will come together to share their researches and ideas on East Asian anthropology.
Continuing from the previous meetings in Beijing in 2008 and in Taipei in 2009, the third annual meeting of EAAA at the AKS aims to push forward the agenda and formalize the gathering in the form of an East Asian Anthropological Association in East Asia; to promote interest, research, cooperative activities, and exchange of information in the field of East Asian studies.
On behalf of the organizing committee at the AKS, I wish to extend a warm welcome to all the participants and hope that your stay at the Academy will be the most pleasant and rewarding one.
